Dynamic Pathway For Developing a Functional Athlete. 

  1. Balanced nutrition definition:  Whole foods, a minimally processed diet that includes all macronutrients (Carbohydrates, Fats, and Proteins) proportionately in regular use daily and consistently.

  2. Plate Model (45-65% Carb, 10-35% Proteins, 20-35% Fats)

  3. Daily Requirements for caloric intake based on age, weight, activity level, and body type.

  4. Dietary restrictions, food sensitivities, accessibility to specific food items.

  5. Daily variety and variation that is needed for training schedules.

  6. Concepts of how calories and foods are energy and how energy is distributed in the 3 energy systems.

  7. Understanding what quantities of energy look like in a variety of foods.

  8. How HBV (High Biological Value) foods look differently from those foods that are not.

  9. Benefits of phytonutrients and micronutrients.

  10. Varied eating for light (training), medium (game week), and heavy (multiply match play week).

  11. Meal planning, meal prep, meal ideas, recipes, and consistency.
